Gurbani Answers is built as a completely free, ad-free application to help users discover and understand the wisdom of Sikh scriptures. This service is provided at no cost and is designed with user privacy as a core, uncompromised principle.

                  The Baseline: We do not require user accounts, registration, or profile creation. We never collect, track, or share any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, or phone number).
              

1. Local Processing & Core Functionality

Your reading habits, personal bookmarks, and history are strictly your own. Gurbani Answers functions locally on your device. The holy scripture database is fully self-contained within the app, meaning your reading history and personalized configurations remain strictly stored on your own device hardware.

2. Anonymous App Usage and Metrics

To help us improve search accuracy, fix bugs, and understand general usage patterns, the app utilizes Google Analytics (via the Firebase SDK) and Firebase Crashlytics to collect basic, anonymous technical metrics. This data includes:

Product Improvements: General trends like feature usage, display theme selections, and casting utilization so we can figure out how to make the app better.
Search Diagnostics: Anonymized search terms to ensure our lookup engine correctly finds and serves the intended Shabads. These terms are processed as isolated actions and are never linked to any personal identity.
App Stability: Automatic crash logs and performance metrics provided via Firebase Crashlytics to help us quickly spot code issues and roll out updates.

Zero Ad Tracking: We have completely disabled all advertising identifier collections (such as IDFA on iOS or AAID on Android) and cross-app tracking mechanisms at the application framework level. No data is used for commercial profiling, targeted marketing, or tracking outside this app.

3. Complete Control (Opt-Out)

We believe telemetry should be completely transparent. If you prefer not to share anonymous usage metrics or crash diagnostics, you can disable them instantly at any time. Simply navigate to the Settings screen within the app and turn off the "Usage Analytics" toggle switch. This completely cuts off all communication with Firebase services.

These services do not target or address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly gather any data from children.
